In the lifestyle promoted by Agni Yoga, meditation is a central method of self-inquiry and a way to verify insights given in the Teaching. Co-workers exercise disciplines of consciousness that sharpen and extend subtle aspects of sensory awareness. Establishing methods of external inquiry also lays a foundation for including human consciousness itself among the instruments of research.
Practice is pursued individually on an ongoing basis. The Institute also holds periodic sessions focused on meditation and disciplines of consciousness. For more committed seekers, multi-day retreats are offered from time to time, and formal annual week-long retreats have been held for over 35 years. This work is expected to expand to the public through introductory sessions and retreats.
Understanding, developing, and sustaining methods of meditation and personal striving are supported through discussions, periodic sittings, mentoring, and mutual care. In keeping with long-standing tradition, there is no charge for these activities.
Begin or deepen your practice
Still the mind, find inner peace, increase focus, clarity and creativity, subdue the noise of the world and begin to realize your higher nature. At Agni Institute, meditation is taught and practiced as the principal skill for investigating the nature of consciousness, existence and reality.
If you wish to learn about and begin to meditate, or have already begun and wish to learn more, there are practical offerings to help you establish meditation as part of your lifestyle. If you have meditated for many years and wish to deepen your practice, you are invited to take part in thought-provoking and heart-centered discussions and sessions to directly experience and understand consciousness in its most fundamental states.
