Where living ethics meets disciplined inquiry

Agni Institute is a volunteer community for Agni Yoga study, meditation training, and open collaborative research into nature and consciousness.

What we do

Three interlocking strands of work

Each strand can stand alone, and they reinforce one another — study informs practice, practice sharpens research, and research feeds back into shared understanding.

Agni Yoga study

Ongoing dialogues on the Living Ethics: inner yoga, the heart, and how these teachings take root in ordinary life. Mentoring is available for readers who want conversation partners. We draw inspiration from the Agni Yoga books while remaining independent — not affiliated with other organizations; the texts themselves are provided by the Roerich Museum of New York without modification.

Meditation

Meditation is treated as both self-inquiry and a method of verification. Co-workers keep a personal practice; the Institute also holds focused sittings, multi-day practicums, and week-long retreats that have run for more than thirty-five years. Introductory sessions for the public are expanding.

Collaborative research

Experiments suggested by the texts — and by aligned ethical questions — are pursued openly. Participants may join as enthusiasts, citizen scientists, or professional investigators; methods, data, and findings are meant to be shared across borders. Institute Research also runs lab and protocol work, including a space built in 2024.

How we work

Eastern disciplines of awareness joined with Western scientific method — motivated by goodwill.

Physics, biology, materials, astronomy, and related fields sit alongside training of attention and conscience. Outreach grows from the programs themselves: people contribute project by project, often remotely, in an open-source spirit.

Everyone here is a volunteer. Each person brings a different skill while walking their own path of self-cultivation and service.
